Message from our President


We are pleased to report that we head into 2011 with two years of positive surplus growth. Our capital strength continues to improve as our core business continues to grow, with particular emphasis on the casualty lines.

We have implemented enhanced underwriting tools designed to improve our risk assessment and to make our products more competitive for our agents and more comprehensive for our policyholders. We have updated our automobile and homeowners forms in Michigan and filed more comprehensive coverage forms for motorcycle and watercraft, including our first yacht policy form, in Indiana and Michigan. Our policy processing platform has been and is seemingly continually upgraded to enhance information flow, including some real time rating, updated billing and claims reports, and otherwise to improve efficiencies for our friends in Michigan and Indiana. And, of course, we have continued to grow with new appointments throughout our geographic area.

2011 opens with bright prospects as we continue to roll out real time rating and offer competitive markets to our agents. Additional product improvements and other positive developments are also underway for this fiscal year.
