About Us
Over a century of exceptional service
Most days go well. Then it happens. An accident. Nasty weather. A break in. Suddenly the things you value – your home, car, motorcycle, boat and recreational vehicle or rental property – needs repair or replacing.
That’s why you want to choose an insurance carrier that strives to respond to your claim within 24 hours of receiving it. A company that works with you and your independent insurance agent so there are no “surprises” when you get your settlement. A carrier that lets you choose the repair/construction service provider so you’re confident in the quality of workmanship. Wolverine Mutual Insurance Company is the carrier you want.
Need a quote on a new policy? Your local Wolverine Mutual independent insurance agent will respond quickly to your request. Unlike discount insurance agents that limit your choices or force you to settle for an insurance package that’s “close” to the coverage you want, your Wolverine agent will listen to your actual needs. You’ll learn what are state-mandated coverages and get advice on which optional coverages best suit your circumstances. Your agent will show you what discounts you qualify for so you can save on your premiums year after year. And you’ll learn what payment plan works with your budget.
Wolverine Mutual Insurance Company has provided this outstanding insurance coverage and exceptional claims service since 1917. Now more than 45,000 policyholders in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin know they’ll hear “it’s protected” when the things they value are damaged or lost.
That assurance comes from Wolverine Mutual’s commitment to provide a strong financial future for its policyholders. It is a commitment that has weathered some of our nation’s toughest economic times. It is a watchful eye that responds to ever-changing coverage needs. It is a company that cares about you.

A Letter from the President
As I write to you this year, we are all enduring a pandemic of unimaginable proportions. I therefor begin by wishing good health and fortune to each of you. May we all come through this humbled and appreciative of our loved ones and the community we share locally and across this great Country.
At Wolverine we are, in fact, lucky to be afforded the opportunity to continue to serve during this crisis. We are doing our best to accommodate difficult circumstances facing many of our policyholders and agents. We have learned to work remotely and I am very proud of our team and of our agents for the outstanding customer service efforts I see from all concerned.
So many businesses are not so fortunate to be open and performing “essential” tasks. Personal insurance, much maligned as a burden to many, continues to serve its all-important role in our society. Despite the “closing” of our economy, we continue to take care of those who suffer misfortune and bring the peace of mind that at least your possessions and goof ups are protected should calamity occur.
2019 was a difficult year for Wolverine, primarily driven by several storms causing meaningful damage throughout Indiana and Michigan. We have weathered those storms and provided valuable services to our policyholders to ensure those who put their trust in us are more than pleased with the outcome when they need us most.
We are investing for the long haul and looking forward to our continuing strong relationships with our agents and policyholders. Our objectives are challenged by the pandemic but rise above: To provide the best personal experience to you to be found in our insurance market.
Sincerely,
James S. Laing
President
